* 三月份藝術家--Stuart Hamby (堯惟誠)

Stuart Hamby is a Canadian artist living, studying, and working in Taipei, where he has resided off and on for ten years. His appearance in Taiwan Fun magazine coincides with his second solo show, Affluxion, at Beat Studio (opening March 8). The image sponsored here by Alley Cats is entitled Figure in Motion ii, which is the second in an upcoming series of abstract figures to be previewed at the show. The Affluxion show includes paintings and drawings executed in pen and ink, oil, and mixed media. Stuart's first solo show, Birth & Species, was held at Wan Fang Hospital in December 2007. That show consisted of a series of semi-abstract ink drawings based on organic forms, which he calls 'cellular' art. In the words of the artist, 'cellular' art is where "primitive art and calligraphy meet microbiology." Stuart most recently participated in the Wild East Art Show, also at Beat Studio. After the Affluxion show, he will begin preparing for a group show in June, again at Wan Fang Hospital.
